After presenting her work exclusively abroad, German-born choreographer Katrin Riedel-Kelly presented a production, introducing the new company name ‘Gauge Dance Theatre’, for the first time in Germany. ‘Borders + Passages’ celebrated a successful premiere in July at the Pumpwerk Berlin and is going on tour next year. Though Katrin Riedel-Kelly is also creating work for other companies and individual projects, the aim is to establish the grounds for a full-time working company. The work in itself, though rooted firmly in contemporary dance, is interdisiplinary in nature, thus embracing and including the interplay of all theatrical elements to create a sensual stage language and a ‘landscape’, in which the fleeting experience of bodies, sound + sight can be experienced and enjoyed. |
