About
The work of the German born artistic director of Gauge Dance Theatre, Katrin Riedel-Kelly, is marked by deeply reflective, sensitively structured and philosophical thought-through concepts. She exposes traces of experiences in the body; may it be related to personal themes such as loss of self, dysfunctional relationships or societal and individual issues concerning collective memory – a view behind social masks and beyond postmodern views of the world. Biographies
Katrin Riedel-Kelly
(Artistic Director)
Katrin Riedel-Kelly was born in Germany and is again resident there after having completed her training at the Laban Centre in London, where she completed her BA (Hons) studies in Dance Theatre in 1999 followed by MA studies in European Dance Theatre Practice in 2004 that she completed with distinction. In 2001 she spent some time in Los Angeles, where she studied acting and movement for actors at the Tom Todoroff Studios and voice with Edward Sayegh. |

Katrin is an actress, dancer and a theatre maker in her own right. Her work has spanned both film and theatre. Films include for example: Das Herz ist ein dunkler Wald, Sei Still, Tom & Lilli and Game, Set and Match, in both London and Germany. As a dancer she has performed all over the world: Paris, Genoa, London and Florida.
Katrin has been a guest-lecturer at the Laban Centre London and is a guest-lecturer at Pontlevoy, France; Universidad des Americas, Mexico and Jacksonville University, Florida, for which she lead and organised a study abroad programme for dance and drama students from universities in the United States. This programme, which is to took place in June 2007 ran in conjunction with Jacksonville University, Florida.

Besides continuing her choreographic research, she is teaching acting and movement for actors. Research includes topics such as: presentness in the performative frame, emotional flow through body movement, Laban’s choreology as tool for actors and directors...

Raisa Kröger
After receiving her dance education in Nürnberg and Berlin at Balance1, Raisa completed an Intensive for choreographers at the Tanzfabrik Berlin.
She worked with choreographers such as Friederike Plafki (Residency at PACT Zollverein Essen, Tanztage Berlin), Isabelle Schad (Mentoring-Projekt-Tanztage Berlin, Tanzplattform Hannover 2008), Özlem Alkis (off limits Festival), Juli Reinartz (nachtundnebel Berlin) and presented her own work in Dortmund at the off limits Festival, Theater im Depot; in Berlin (Tanztage Berlin, Tanzfabrik, TANZA07, GlogAIR, ada Studio); in Zürich (Tanzhaus Wasserwerk) and in Düsseldorf (tanzhaus nrw). |

Saskia Oidtmann
Saskia studied contemporary dance and choreography at the Laban Centre London. Currently she is completing her studies in Film- and Theatre Sciences, which she commenced at the University Bochum and then resumed at the Freie Universität Berlin. Besides her professional activities as a dancer, she is interested in exploringperspectives in the choreographic process; to to connect theory and artistic practice. She particularly enjoys the interdisciplinary work with dance and video/film etc.

Anja Richter
Anja trained in Paris. She completed her training as certified teacher for classical and contemporary dance in 1997 and 2000. Besides her work as a teacher she worked for a variety of contemporary dance companies in France and presented her own work there in 2007. Since 2005 she is residing in Berlin where she offers dance, yoga and gyrotonic classes. Since February 2008 she has been working with Katrin Riedel-Kelly. |

Tracy Collier
Tracy began her acting career in 1979 when she toured Italy with various musicals, plays and television. On returning to this country she appeared in repertory theatres around the country and at Drury Lane in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. Repertory shows included Oklahoma, Hiawatha, One for the Road, The Birdwatcher, No, No, Nanette, Bless the Bride, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (British Premiere) Perchance to Dream, The Dancing Years, Alice in Wonderland, various pantomimes and many others. |

She followed this with a 2 ½ year run as Lady Jaqueline Carston in Me and My Girl at the Adelphi Theatre and 1 ½ year stay at the Royal National Theatre as part of both the Olivier and the Littleton companies. She has also been a director and choreographer along side her acting career and has completed an MA at the Laban Centre in European Dance Theatre Practice. At present Tracy is Head of Movement at E15 drama school, prior to that she was Senior Tutor Musical Theatre, Dance and Movement at GSA, a position she held for 10 years. |

Anthony Straeger
Anthony completed his BA in English and Drama quite some time ago. Since then, life has been a roller coaster ride of 'the Good, the Bad and the Ugly'. One of his most recent engagements include the part of Gorge W. Brush in 'Who Shot the Sheriff' for the London Toast Theatre Company in Copenhagen and an engagement with Time4ChangeTheatre in the UK. For both parts he received acclaimed reviews. |

Anthony has also directed and written a number of short films, Trick or Treat (Cannes 2001), The One We Came In For (San Francisco Film festival 2000) and Games, Set and Match (Bristol 1 minute short festival 2002) to name a few. Most recently he directed his first feature film. From Corporate scripting to Crowd co-ordination, clients have included TIGI, Nokia, Virgin, Honda to name but a few.
Entertainment is the name of the game, regardless of the roll or the script and to quote Cecil B. De Mille:

Crew
Susanne Bachmann (Costume/Set Design)
Born in Switzerland, studied architecture at the the ‘Eidgenössisch Technischen Hochschule Zürich’ and subsequently painting for theatre at the ‘Hochschule für bildende Künste in Dresden’. After completing her studies she worked as assistent in art department for TV and theatre productions; theatres include for example Theater Bremen, Berliner Ensemble and Staatstheater Braunschweig. Besides her professional engagements she developed her own work/designs for short films since 1996. Since 2006 she works as a freelance set – and costume designer and creates her own works for theatre and dance productions and the Staatstheater Braunschweig. |
Eckhard Roth (Roth 01, Lightingdesign)
Born in 1964 in Kronstadt Sibenbürgen (Rumania), he emigrated to Germany in 1982. Initially he studied aerospace engineering and completed a degree in mathematics. Due to his fascination with lighting/lighting design he studied lighting design and improved his knowledge and skills further through a variety of work experiences. In 1992 he worked as assistent of the technical departement at the ‘Stendal Theater am Alten Markt’. Since 1993 he has been working on a freelance basis, which allowed him to combine artistic and technical process. Since then he supervised approx. 40 theatre works, 20 productions and 10 festivals. Further he creates lighting installations for public spaces; his most recent one was the illumination of the ‘Herta-Brücke’ (bridge) at a length of 101 metres, which could be seen for 2 months. In 2007 he created the ‘as-neo-baroke-light’ in the Körnerpark, which was installed for 4 months on the 2,5 hectar large grounds of the park. |
Ipso Schaltwerk (Music/Soundscape)
Ipso Schaltwerk is a composer and musician. With his unique blend of analogous and synthetic sounds he has been focusing on music for the stage and screen. He has written and produced several scores for theatre, film, performance art and band productions. He grew up in Norway, but now resides in Vienna, Austria. His latest album, "Kaldt" is available as a free download on the internet label Bleak at: myspace.com/schaltwerk
